The Rippey Demons will host two teams for the second Rippey Ruckus tournament of the ’21 baseball season. The first game of the Fall tournament will be held Saturday, Oct. 9, at the Walt Anderson field in the southwest corner of Rippey. The game will begin at 10:30 am.
The Rippey Demons will have the home field advantage. They are part of the Mid Iowa Baseball League for those 48 years of age and older. They will play the Kansas City Monarchs, a combined team from Kansas City men’s senior baseball league.
The second game will begin an approximately 1 pm and pits the Rippey Demons against the Minnesota Angels. The Angels have been to Rippey before as they competed in the Springtime Rippey Ruckus. The Angels hail from the Minnesota 50+ league.
Game 3 will begin at approximately 3:30 and will see the Minnesota Angels go head-to-head with the Kansas City Monarchs.
Each game will be 7 innings.
The break for the Demons will give them and the Friends of Rippey time to prepare for the post game meal that is being offered for the players. This is a thank you meal for coming to Rippey this past season, and a look forward to Spring of 2022 and the April 29 and May 1 Rippey Ruckus Tournament.
There is no admission for attending the games. The Friends of Rippey will sell baseball food concessions during the day. All profits will go towards continued maintenance and improvements of the Walt Anderson baseball field.
